9th Annual Comedy Night for Immigrant Rights

Join the Immigration Institute of the Bay Area (IIBA) for a critical year in standing up for immigrant rights. IIBA’s 9th Annual Comedy Night for Immigrant Rights is hosted by Jenny Yang and features Mohanad Elshieky, Sabrina Jalees, and Sheng Wang. Join IIBA for an unforgettable evening of laughter and community.

GENERAL ADMISSION & PREMIERE TICKETS:

General Admission tickets are available for $50 and $75.

Premiere tickets are $200 and include access to a pre-show reception with complimentary appetizers and pouring by Turley Wine Cellars and Frog’s Leap Winery. Reception begins at 5:30pm.

 


 

Mohanad Elshieky is a New York based, Libyan-born comedian who made his national TV debut on Conan, has been featured on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Don’t Tell Comedy, Comedy Central, and has toured with Pop Up Magazine. He is currently a writer/consultant for the hit podcast LOVETT OR LEAVE IT and was one of the hosts of Lemonada’s podcast I’M SORRY where each week they unravel the latest and greatest in Twitter gaffes, petty beef and not-so-subtle shade.

 

Sabrina Jalees is a writer, comic and actor based in Los Angeles. As a stand-up, Sabrina has toured the world and can be seen on her Netflix special The Comedy Lineup. She’s written on several hit shows including Search Party, Harley Quinn, Big Mouth and is currently producing and starring in the new Netflix animated series Mating Season. Sabrina also co-hosts the Audible podcast Benefits with Friends with Mae Martin. She can currently be seen acting in Ally Pankiw’s latest Netflix feature I Used To Be Funny opposite Rachel Sennott.

 

Jenny Yang is a standup comedian, actor, and tv writer who was named one of Variety’s Top Ten Comics to Watch and has been featured at Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, the San Francisco Sketch Festival, and Netflix is a Joke Festival. Jenny is a former labor organizer, born in Taiwan and raised in Los Angeles who stars opposite Michelle Yeoh as an assassin in the Netflix action comedy-drama series, The Brothers Sun.

 

Sheng Wang is a comedian, actor, and writer originally from Houston, TX. His first Netflix special, Sweet and Juicy (produced/directed by Ali Wong), is now streaming. He was a featured stand-up on HBO’s 2 Dope Queens special and also wrote for the ABC show Fresh Off the Boat.
