Music of Remembrance: The Dialogue of Memories
NEW! Music of Remembrance Opera Commission
Music by Tom Cipullo
Libretto by Howard Reich with Tom Cipullo
The Presidio Theatre is pleased to welcome Music of Remembrance back for its annual engagement of enlightening and deeply meaningful music. This year's performance presents a moving, brand-new work direct from its world premiere in Seattle, WA.
The Dialogue of Memories tells the story of the son of an aging Holocaust survivor searching for meaning in his mother’s battle with the ghosts of her past. He finds enlightenment from an unexpected source: Nobel laureate Elie Wiesel. With lyrical beauty and emotional honesty, this pathbreaking new opera illuminates how we can reach understanding across generations and open doors of memory, hope and compassion.
Music of Remembrance is a dynamic arts organization focused on human rights and social justice. Founded in 1998, it has evolved from an initial focus on Holocaust remembrance to honoring the resilience of all people excluded or persecuted for their faith, ethnicity, gender, or sexuality.
