For this exclusive Presidio Theatre performance, Venezuelan pianist and composer Edward Simon will present his inventive trio of bassist Reuben Rogers and drummer Adam Cruz augmented by the Del Sol String Quartet and special guest saxophonist Chris Potter. The group will perform Simon’s latest work Latin Heart that blends the rhythmic vitality,and melodic richness of Latin American music with jazz. Based in the Bay Area and a longtime member of the SFJAZZ Collective, Simon is a Guggenheim Fellow and a current faculty member of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Chris Potter is one of the most influential saxophonists of his generation and a longtime member of the SFJAZZ Collective.
